-
Solar Electric or PV modules convert sunlight to electricity (DC or direct current) and
sending it to the inverter.
-
The inverter transforms the DC power into AC electricity for ordinary electric usage.
-
For grid tied system, Net Meter will record the net electric usage. It will spin forward,
if usage is more than electricity generated by the Solar PV system or spin backward (gives credit),
if otherwise.
-
For systems with a battery backup (optional), the inverter also regulates the charge of
batteries. The electricity stored in the batteries can be used at night or during blackouts.
-
Solar (PV) Panels - The Solar (PV) Panels consist of dozens of small, square-shaped solar
cells which can convert light directly into electricity. A typical solar cell uses
semiconductors made from silicon.
-
Inverter - The inverter converts direct current (DC) into alternative current (AC)
electricity that is identical to that produced by the utility company.
-
Mounting System - The mounting system securely attaches PV panels to the roof or, in some
cases, on the ground. It is designed to provide support and balance.
-
Net Meter - At the grid tied system, it allows you to get credit from the utility company
for the excessive electricity generated your solar system, by spinning backwards.
-
Monitoring System (Required for US Solargy’s PPA and Optional for others) - This system makes
remote monitoring possible. At US Solargy, we will use this monitoring system to proactively
monitoring the solar system performance and take proper action to take care the system.
-
Battery (optional) - The battery stores electricity generated by the PV system.
